1 3/4 cups of wheat flour

1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1 cup of ripe mashed banana
1 cup of dried black plum, without pit, finely chopped
2 slightly beaten eggs

Preheat the oven to a moderate temperature (170°C)
Grease and flour a 26 x 12 cm English cake pan
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and baking soda
Add the butter or margarine in small pieces and mix with two knives until a crumbly mixture forms
Combine the bananas, black plum, and eggs and mix with a fork until all ingredients are well incorporated
Spread the batter evenly in the cake pan
Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Remove from the oven and let cool completely
This cake is best served on the day after
