Mix the ground meat gently with the egg, breadcrumbs, milk, and salt
Fry the onion in butter or margarine for 10 minutes
Shape half the meat mixture into an English muffin shape
Cover with the onion
Place the remaining meat on top
Dish onto a greased baking sheet, season with black pepper, and bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes
Serve in eight pieces.
