For the batter

1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate chips (45 g)
1 cup butter or margarine (240 g)
4 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar (180 g)
1 tablespoon baking powder (12 g)
1 cup whole milk (240 ml)
For the glaze
1 cup unsweetened chocolate chips (90 g)
2 2/3 cups whole milk (210 g)
2/3 cup water (160 m)
2/3 cup butter or margarine (160 g)
2/3 cup granulated sugar (120 g)
For the batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the batter ingredients
Mix everything well
Spread the batter evenly into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Remove from the oven and let cool
Beat all the glaze ingredients together until smooth
Spread half of the glaze over one cake layer
Place the other cake layer on top and cover with the remaining glaze.
