Beat the butter
Gradually add 1/4 cup of sugar and beat well
Add half of the egg and raisins and mix well
Sift together flour, yeast, and salt
Alternate adding with milk to the butter mixture, mixing well
Place the mixture in a ring shape on an ungreased baking sheet
Brush with the remaining egg and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar mixed with chopped walnuts
Bake at a low temperature for 25-30 minutes or until done
Serve warm, sliced.
