Sift the flour, yeast, and salt into a bowl
Pulse the remaining ingredients in a blender until smooth
Pour the mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well
Divide the batter evenly between two 9-inch round cake pans that have been greased and floured
Bake in a preheated moderate oven (170°C) for about 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Let cool, then fill and serve as desired.
