Soak the yams in water for four days until they are completely soft
Drain the mass, leave it slightly damp and add sugar, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and mix well until it's homogeneous
Let it rest for 40 minutes

Divide the mass into four portions
Place one portion on each banana leaf, spread it to be about 3 cm thick
Wrap the mass with the leaf like a package
Then put it in an iron pan and let it bake until the bottom is well browned
Flip the cake and wait for the same result on the other side
To serve, remove the leaf and cut into pieces
