Peel the manioc and grind it in a meat grinder, using the fine plate
Beat the sugar with the butter
Add the egg yolks one by one, beating continuously
Add the manioc and baking powder and mix well
Add the beaten egg whites
Mix carefully
Place into an ungreased tube pan and bake in a hot oven (400°F) for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
