Preheat the oven
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda in a large bowl
Add softened butter or margarine (remove from refrigerator for 30 minutes beforehand)
Add milk and vanilla extract
Mix well
Beat with electric mixer for 2 minutes, scraping sides of bowl
Add eggs and yeast, beat for another 2 minutes
Pour into greased 9x13-inch baking dish
Bake in moderate oven for about 50 minutes or until cake is slightly loose from sides (when inserting a toothpick, it should come out clean)
Let cool for 5 minutes
Cut into squares, remove from pan, and let cool completely
