1/4 cup unsalted butter or margarine

1 package of cake mix (500g) liquid as directed on the package

Melt the butter or margarine in a square or round baking dish (22cm diameter), while the oven is preheating
Mix the strawberry or raspberry gelatin with melted butter or margarine, spread over half of the pears arranged symmetrically in the baking dish
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, combine with eggs and spread over the fruit
Bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes
Loosen the cake edges with a knife and flip the baking dish over onto a serving plate.
