Pour the fat and salt into the boiling water and stir over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil
Reduce the heat, add the flour all at once, and mix vigorously until the dough comes away from the sides of the pan
Remove from the heat and add one egg at a time, beating well after each one
Place the dough into balls on an ungreased tray, using a tablespoon or spoon (depending on the size you want the bombs to be)
Bake in a hot oven for 20 minutes, reduce the heat and bake for another 20 minutes
Remove from the heat and place on a wire rack to cool
When they are cold, open them up, making a cut with a sharp knife and fill with ice cream
Serve with chocolate topping.
