Prepare the basic fritter dough by adding sugar along with flour
Add vanilla extract after adding eggs
Heat 5 cm of vegetable oil in a pan
Let the dough fall into the hot oil in ladle-sized scoops (about 1/4 cup each)

Fry until they're golden brown and puffed up (about 5 minutes)
