Combine the condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture forms a smooth paste
Transfer to a greased plate and let cool
Drain the cherries and cut them in half
Roll out the brigadeiro mixture and place cherry halves on either side, securing with toothpicks
Arrange on a greased tray and refrigerate until firm
Caramel Sauce:
Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar forms a golden brown syrup
Remove the brigadeiros from the refrigerator and coat in caramel sauce
Arrange on paper towels or a greased surface to dry
Serve when cooled.
