2 1/3 cups of fine fubá
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
1/4 cup of unsalted butter or margarine, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon of sweet herbs
3 eggs
fubá for dusting
2 1/3 cups of fine fubá
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
1/4 cup of unsalted butter or margarine, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon of sweet herbs
3 eggs
fubá for dusting
In a large mixing bowl, combine the fubá, all-purpose flour, and active dry yeast
Mix well
Add in the butter or margarine, sweet herbs, and eggs
Mix until a soft dough forms that doesn't stick to your hands (if needed, add more fubá)
Divide the dough into 4 portions and shape each one into a rolled-up rope on a surface dusted with fubá
Cut each rope into 8 pieces, shape into balls, and coat with fubá to ensure they're well covered
Arrange them in greased baking dishes, leaving ample space between the rolls as they will spread significantly during baking
Bake in a preheated moderate oven (170°C) for about 20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown on the edges and surface
Remove from the baking dishes and let cool.
