Temper the crab pieces after cleaning and removing shells, leaving only the flaps, with lemon juice, salt, and pepper
Mix together flour, curry powder, milk, egg, and oil
Dip each crab piece into this mixture, which is thick, holding it by the flaps
Let excess mixture drain off
Coat in shredded coconut
Let rest for 30 minutes
Fry in hot oil, flipping to brown both sides
Drain on paper towels
