1 kg of pork, cut into cubes
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 cups of water
1 cup of vinegar
1 medium onion, stuck with 3 cloves
1 medium carrot
1 sprig of salt
1 tablespoon of salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon of caraway seeds (can be found in sachets or bottles at supermarkets)
black pepper to taste
1/4 cup of prepared strong root (comes in jars)

In a deep pan, brown the pork in butter all around
Add water and all other ingredients except for the strong root
Let it cook slowly covered, until it's tender (about 1 hour)
Place the pork on a warm platter and keep it warm
Strain the sauce through a sieve or blend it in a blender
Pour the sauce over the pork and cover with the strong root
Serve with potato.
