1 kg of lean braised beef or shredded beef (jerky or dried)
1/2 kg of thinly sliced onions
1/2 cup of butter or margarine

Cut the meat into strips that are not too thin
Leave it to marinate for at least 4 hours, or more
Change the liquid several times
Fry the onion in butter or margarine over low heat, covered with a lid, stirring occasionally, until it's soft and golden brown
Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside
Use the leftover fat in the pan to fry the meat slowly, adding it in small batches so it doesn't collect liquid
If liquid does accumulate, drain and remove excess
Season the meat with pepper and salt (if needed), then mix the strips of beef with the onion and serve
