Soak the dried beef in cold water in a bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight
Change the water during this time at least six times
Drain and cut it into small pieces
Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion until it becomes transparent
Remove half of the onion and reserve
In the same pan, with the remaining onion, add the dried beef and cover it with cold water
Cook until the beef becomes tender
If necessary, add hot water gradually
