Soak the plums in water for 2 hours
In a saucepan, combine the plums with water, bay leaves, and cinnamon
Cook for 10 minutes and strain
Remove the pits from the plums
Mix the walnuts with the plums, wine, butter, sugar, and salt
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes
Allow to cool and place in a serving dish
Serve at room temperature
