Cut off the top of each onion and remove all the pulp, leaving only a thin layer
Place the onions in a refractory form
Add a little cheese to the bottom of each onion
Cover with some mashed sardines
Finally, add more cheese
Mix all the ingredients of the white sauce and heat it up slightly to thicken
Season to taste with salt
Pour over the stuffed onions and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes
