1 large onion (150g) finely chopped
500g ground beef (rump or chuck), ground
1 egg
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
A pinch of black pepper
Oil for brushing
100g sliced cheddar cheese
6 hamburger buns with sesame seeds (300g)
1 large tomato (170g), sliced into wedges
6 leaves of lettuce (50g)

In a medium bowl, combine the onion, beef, egg, mustard, salt, and pepper
Mix well to obtain a homogeneous mixture
Divide into six portions
Brush one surface with oil
Using an 8cm diameter cookie cutter or shaping with your hands, form a hamburger patty from each portion
Reserve on the oiled surface
Heat a large skillet or frying pan over high heat
Brush with oil and reduce heat to medium
Fry two hamburgers at a time until they are golden brown (approximately 2 minutes per side)
Distribute sliced cheese on top, allowing it to melt (approximately 1 minute)
Cut the buns in half and toast for approximately 1 minute
On the bottom of each bun, place a hamburger patty with cheese, followed by tomato slices and lettuce
Top with remaining bun halves and serve immediately
