Combine the sugars, cream, and chocolate in a saucepan
Heat until the mixture reaches a soft-ball consistency
Stir just enough to prevent sticking at the bottom
Remove from heat
Add the butter and vanilla
Do not stir until the mixture has cooled slightly
Beat until it loses its sheen
Spread into a greased, 20x5cm square pan
After cooling, cut into squares
Yield: 1 kg.
