1 cleaned pork hock

Place all the ingredients in a medium pot and cover with water
Cover and bring to a boil
When it starts to simmer, reduce heat and cook for about 2 hours until the meat is tender (the meat should be left in the broth at serving time)
Serve with sauerkraut (fermented cabbage), sold in German product stores, and small boiled potatoes.
