1 1/2 kg chicken, cut into pieces

1/2 cup pineapple syrup

Mix the soy sauce with the ginger and garlic
Pour over chicken pieces and let sit for a few hours
Fry chicken pieces in butter or margarine until browned on both sides
Place in a baking dish
Add pineapple syrup and seasonings
Bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken is tender
Fry pineapple rings in butter or margarine until lightly browned on both sides
Serve around the chicken pieces
