1 medium chicken cut into pieces
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons Karo golden syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
1 dash of pepper
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup water
2 oranges peeled and cut into slices
1 medium chicken cut into pieces
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons Karo golden syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
1 dash of pepper
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup water
2 oranges peeled and cut into slices
Sear the chicken pieces in butter or margarine slowly
Remove the chicken from the pan and reserve
Add flour, Karo, salt, ginger, and pepper to the pan
Cook while stirring until it bubbles
Add orange juice and water; cook while stirring until thickened, then simmer for 1 minute
Remove from heat
Add the chicken back into the sauce; let it cool and refrigerate
45 minutes before serving, reheat and let it simmer for 30 minutes
Place orange slices around the chicken and cook for an additional 15 minutes
Serve in 4 quarters.
