1 medium onion, chopped

1/4 cup of golden syrup Karo
1 tablespoon of mustard

2 chickens weighing approximately 1 1/4 pounds each, cut into four pieces

salt and pepper to taste

Cook the onion in 2 tablespoons of butter until golden brown
Add ketchup, water, Karo, mustard, and salt
Let it cook for 15 minutes
Brush each piece of chicken with melted butter
Arrange on the grill 10 cm from the flames, with the skin side up
Grill for 20 minutes, frequently basting with the cooked sauce
Flip the chicken pieces and grill for another 20 minutes, basting several times until the chicken is tender
Season to taste with salt and pepper
Serve in 4 portions.
