Three-quarters cup of sugar
One-quarter cup of chocolate powder
One tablespoon of unsweetened gelatin
Two cups of milk
Three egg yolks, separated
One teaspoon of vanilla
Whipped cream for decoration

In a saucepan, mix together one-half cup of sugar, the chocolate powder, and the gelatin
Add the milk slowly, stirring well
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture almost comes to a boil
Add half of this mixture to the egg yolks and stir well
Return the saucepan to the heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly
Let cool and add the vanilla
Beat the egg whites until stiff
Add the remaining one-quarter cup of sugar, beating well until stiff peaks form
Add this mixture to the chocolate mixture and mix well
Pour into a mold or shape and refrigerate until firm
Unmold and serve, decorating with whipped cream if desired
