2 days' worth of fresh red strawberries

Cut the strawberries in half, remove the seeds and cores

In a copper pan or pot, put the water and sugar
Bring to a boil until it reaches syrup consistency

Without extinguishing the flame, add the strawberries with caution, slowly stirring them in
Let it cook for 15 minutes or until they're soft but still retain their shape
Remove the pieces with a skimmer and let it cool

To store, pour some of the syrup into the bottom of the jar and then fill it with the strawberries and the rest of the syrup
Cover and refrigerate
