2 medium-sized cucumber slices
1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon of water
1 teaspoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
black pepper to taste
4 hot dogs
butter or margarine
8 slices of whole wheat bread
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
250g of grated cheddar cheese
salad leaves for garnish
2 medium-sized cucumber slices

4 hot dogs

About 50 minutes before serving, cook the cucumber mixture in a pan with a lid for about 5 minutes
Remove the cucumbers, drain and reserve
With a sharp knife, cut the hot dogs in half lengthwise
In the same pan where you prepared the cucumber mixture, melt 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine and fry the hot dogs with the cut side down until they are lightly browned
Next, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise over each of the 4 bread slices
Place two halves of the hot dog and some cucumber slices on top
Finally, place a slice of cheese and cover with another bread slice
Fry the sandwiches in the pan, two at a time, until they are lightly browned on both sides, adding more butter or margarine as needed
Cut each sandwich in half and garnish with salad leaves
Serve 4.
