500g all-purpose flour

1 warm cup of milk
1/3 cup of grated carrot
1/2 cup of ground cashews
1/2 cup of chopped cashews
1 small piece of ginger
1 tablespoon of lemon zest
100g butter or margarine
1 egg
Frying oil for frying
Cornstarch for dusting

Place the flour in a bowl
Make a depression in the center and add the yeast, a little milk, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Mix with your hands without stirring the remaining flour
Let it rest for about 30 minutes
Add the remaining ingredients and knead until you get a pliable dough
Let it rest for another 15 minutes
Divide the dough into pieces of about 50g
Dust the pieces with all-purpose flour and roll each one out into a rope shape
Fold the ends to the middle, crossing them over
Let it rest for another 30 minutes
Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides
Drain well and dust with cornstarch while still warm
Serve after 15 minutes.
