Dissolve the gelatin in boiling water and combine with cold water
Refrigerate until well-set
Pit the melon, leaving it whole
Cut a slice off one end and carefully remove the seeds
Reserve the sliced melon
Drain the melon well
Place it in a bowl
Add the fruit to the gelatin, filling the melon with spoonfuls of this mixture
Top with the reserved melon slice and secure with toothpicks
Refrigerate for one day before serving
Before serving, cut a thin slice off the base of the melon so it will remain firm on a plate
Cover with whipped cream
Serve in slices, 4 to 6 pieces.
