A can of chopped mushrooms
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
2 1/2 tablespoons green pepper, finely chopped
3 pickled olives
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon sherry

Drain the mushrooms and reserve 1/4 cup of liquid
Brown the flour in two tablespoons butter or margarine, then add the beef broth, mushroom liquid, and cook until thickened
Sauté the onion and green pepper in the remaining butter or margarine and add to the sauce
Add the olives
Season with salt and pepper
Let it simmer slowly for 10 minutes, remove from heat, and add the sherry
Serve with grilled steaks
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
