Two cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
3 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon of salt
4 tablespoons of butter or margarine
3/4 cup of milk
One cup of shredded cheese

Mix together the dry ingredients
Add in the butter or margarine and milk, using a spoon or stand mixer, to form a dough
Gently knead on a floured surface
Roll out to about 1 cm thickness
Lay with shredded cheese, cut into strips 5 cm wide
Place 4 strips one on top of another
Cut this piece into smaller squares approximately 4 cm wide
Place each square into an ungreased muffin tin or oven-proof dish
Bake in a hot oven until lightly golden brown
Let cool and serve for about 12 cheese sticks
