Wash the hearts of palm under cold water and drain
Then, in a large skillet, cook the onion and butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until the onion starts to brown
Add the flour and hearts of palm, and stir-fry for 1 minute
Next, add the milk and continue cooking, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until thickened
In a greased baking dish, spread half the creme de palmito mixture and top with half the cheese
Repeat the layers and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15 minutes
Serve with potato chips and sausages, garnished with chives.
