In a bowl, mix the water, yeast, honey or sugar and let it rest for 2 minutes
Add the salt, skimmed milk, butter or margarine and 3 cups of flour
Mix until smooth
Beat for 2 minutes
Add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of flour
Knead until smooth and elastic
Knead on a floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic
Add more flour as needed to prevent sticking
Shape the dough into two loaves
Place the loaves in buttered pans, turning once to grease the other side
Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a protected area, until it doubles in volume, for 1 to 1 1/4 hours
Preheat oven to 200°C
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown
Let it cool before serving
