5 cups of unsalted popcorn kernels
1 cup of chopped pecans
1/2 cup of crystallized cherries, chopped
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of Karo syrup
1/2 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 teaspoon of vanilla
5 cups of unsalted popcorn kernels

Sprea the popcorn, pecans, and cherries on a baking sheet greased with butter, and put it in the moderate oven for 10 minutes
Turn off the oven, open the door, and let the baking sheet stay in the warm oven
Mix the sugar, Karo syrup, water, and salt in a medium saucepan
Cook over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves
After that, cook without stirring until it reaches the hard ball stage
Remove from the heat
Quickly add the butter and vanilla, stirring only until the butter melts
Remove the popcorn mixture from the oven
Pour the syrup on top
Spread the mixture evenly, onto a greased surface
Let it cool down
Break into small pieces.
