2 tablespoons butter

Wash and cut the pears in half, then into thin slices without separating them
Place the pears in a greased refrigerator dish and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg
Mix the water with butter and pour over the fruit
Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until tender
Serve warm
