Prepare the cream: In a 25 cm diameter bowl, mix the sugar with the egg yolks until smooth
Add the cornstarch, milk, and vanilla extract; mix well
Cover the bowl and cook in a microwave on high for about 3 minutes or until creamy
If still not creamy, continue cooking in small increments
Arrange the caramelized custard squares on top of the cream with cut sides up
Place a piece of chocolate on each square
Cover the bowl and microwave on high for about 1 minute and 40 seconds or until the chocolate is melted
As the chocolate may still retain its shape, touch one of the pieces with the tip of a spoon to check if it's melted
