Combine the olive oil and popcorn kernels in a pot
Heat over medium heat, stirring until the oil is hot and fragrant
Cover and reduce heat to low
Make circular motions with the pot every now and then
When the popping slows down, remove from heat
Add salt and melted butter mixed with thyme
Mix well
Serve warm or cold, yields 12 servings.
