Combine the olive oil and popcorn kernels in a pot
Heat it over medium heat, stirring until the oil is hot and fragrant
Cover and reduce heat
Make circular motions with the pot from time to time
When the popping slows down, remove from heat
Add salt and thyme-melted butter mixture, stir well
Serve hot or cold
