2 and 1/2 cups (US standard) of granulated sugar

Place the heavy cream, whole milk, and one and a half cups of granulated sugar in a blender
Blend until a smooth mixture forms and reserve
Melt
the remaining sugar to form a caramel and spread it on a baking dish with a hole in the center
Bake in a water bath in a medium preheated oven for about an hour, or until a toothpick inserted comes out dry.
