3/4 cup boiling water

1 tablespoon grated orange zest

Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy
Mix in the hot milk, butter or margarine, and grated orange zest, adding it slowly to the eggs, stirring well
Place the peach cubes and damsons in a baking dish
Pour the egg mixture over the top
Put the baking dish into a water bath and bake for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean
Serve warm, with this syrup: In a saucepan, mix together the sugar and cornstarch
Gradually add in the boiling water, stirring to obtain a smooth cream
Reduce heat and let simmer for 4 minutes
Add the remaining ingredients
Let stand for 6 hours.
