2 cups of cubed fresh peaches

1/4 cup of sugar

Grease a refrigerator-safe baking dish
Alternate layers of peaches and preserves
Mix the milk, butter, and sugar
Heat slowly over low heat until almost boiling
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
Beat the eggs lightly
Add to the milk mixture
Pour slowly over the peaches
Place the baking dish in a hot water bath with boiling water
Bake in a moderate oven (180°) for one hour or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean
If desired, warm additional peach preserves with a little water and use as a sauce when serving
This pudding can be served warm or cold
Serves 4 to 6 people.
