4 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
3 medium-sized sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin slices, seedless
3 cups of peanuts in a shell
1/4 cup of confectioners' sugar tightly packed in the container
1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
1 nutmeg pinch
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 cup of warm water

Pour the melted butter or margarine into a 23x15 cm refractory dish, spinning the dish to coat the bottom and sides
In a small bowl, mix together confectioners' sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg
Sprinkle a layer of peanuts on the bottom of the dish
Cover with a layer of sweet potato slices
Douse with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and sprinkle with half the confectioners' sugar mixture
Add another layer of crumbs made from sweet potatoes, confectioners' sugar, lemon juice, and finally more crumbs
Douse with water and bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 45 minutes or until the crumbs are golden brown
Serve with ice cream
