Peel the sweet potatoes, remove the seeds, cut them into pieces and place them in a medium saucepan
Add the remaining ingredients, mix well, cover, and bring to a boil
When boiling, reduce heat and cook for about 20 minutes or until the sweet potatoes become soft
If the liquid evaporates, add a little water so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan
Remove from heat and mash the sweet potatoes with a fork until you get a puree
