For the dough
1 packet of yeast for bread
1/4 cup of warm water
1/4 cup of butter or margarine
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of scalded milk
2 1/2 to 2 3/4 cups of wheat flour
For the ham filling:
3 cups of cooked ham, crumbled
2 tablespoons of mustard
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup of heavy cream
For the dough

Dissolve the yeast in warm water
Mix together in a large bowl butter or margarine, sugar, salt, and scalded milk
Add the dissolved yeast
Gradually add wheat flour until a firm dough forms
Place on a floured surface and knead for 3-5 minutes
Prepare the filling by mixing all ingredients well
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a rectangle of 45 x 30 cm
Cut into squares, 7.5 cm each
Baste each square with melted butter or margarine
Place 2 tablespoons of the ham filling in each square
Close the edges well and prick the surface with a fork
Baste with heavy cream
Place on an ungreased baking sheet and let rest for 45 minutes
Bake at hot temperature (200°C) for 15-20 minutes
Serve warm
Yields 12 squares.
