6 cups of water
12 okra cut into 1 cm slices
1 tablespoon of salt
2 1/2 cups of polenta
1 tablespoon of butter

In a large pot with a capacity for 3 liters, bring the water to a boil
Add the okra and salt
Boil uncovered for 1 minute
Add the polenta in a thin stream, stirring constantly
Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick and separates from the sides of the pot
Add the butter and stir well
Use a wooden spoon to beat the dough until the butter is absorbed
Place the dough into a mold with a capacity for 2 liters
Press it down with the back of a spoon and let it rest for 1 minute
Unmold onto a plate
Serve with the spicy sauce (see recipe below)
Yields 8 to 10 servings.
