Shuck the pods, remove the seeds and simmer with water that covers them. Let it cook over low heat until the pulp becomes tender. Remove, strain through a galvanized wire mesh. Measure the resulting pulp and mix equal parts with sugar and return to the heat to adjust the consistency.
