Mix together the flour, butter, bacon fat, and egg
Gradually add in the water until well combined and smooth
Knead well
Roll out on a floured surface to a thin layer
Cut into shapes as desired and place one on top of another diagonally
Press down firmly in the center
Place in hot oil, pressing down with the handle of a wooden spoon in the center to form a flower shape
Fry until golden brown
Fill to taste with chicken or shrimp
Yield: approximately 20 roses.
