2 tablespoons of salt
3/4 cup of scalded milk
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of melted butter or margarine (approximately 3 cups of flour)
Filling:
2 cups of cooked and chopped blackberry (1/2 kg)
1/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 cup of shredded coconut, fresh or dried
1 packet of active dry yeast (15g)
1/4 cup of warm water
1/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of salt
3/4 cup of scalded milk
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of melted butter or margarine (approximately 3 cups of flour)
Filling:
2 cups of cooked and chopped blackberry (1/2 kg)
1/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 cup of shredded coconut, fresh or dried
Activate the yeast in warm water
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, salt, and scalded milk
Add the grated lemon zest, unbeaten egg, yeast mixture, 1/2 cup of flour, and melted butter or margarine
Mix well
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until a firm dough forms
Knead on a floured surface for about 3 minutes
Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a protected area for 1 hour and 30 minutes
Prepare the filling by mixing all ingredients together
Divide the dough in half
Divide each half into three parts
Open one part on a floured surface to form a 35x12 cm strip
Spread 1/3 cup of filling over the strip, leaving a 1 cm border
Moisten the two ends and one side
Roll up like a croissant and close the moistened edges
Repeat with the remaining parts
Make a triangle by folding the three parts together, closing the points well
Place in an oven-safe dish and gently curve the top to resemble a crescent moon
Brush the triangle with melted butter or margarine and dust with cinnamon and sugar
Make another triangle like this one
Let rise in a protected area for 45 minutes
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for 30-45 minutes, or until done
Gift wrapping: place the cooled ring on a beautiful wooden platter (or tray or wicker basket), wrap with cellophane paper, and add a colorful ribbon
Hang Christmas ornaments from the center.
