Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a saucepan and let it sit for a few minutes until it softens
Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the gelatin is fully dissolved
Remove the saucepan from the heat, add the grape juice and artificial flavor to taste
Refrigerate the mixture at this point, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly
Pour the mixture into a chilled bowl and whip with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, doubling in volume
Divide the gelatin into individual portions and refrigerate until firm
Serve 4 to 6.
